Last year, we watched on TV how singer Suvi Teräsniska’s cottage got a new look. Monday Huvila & Huussi – the best renovations –interior architect in the program Mikko Vesanen and renovation coordinator Vilja Schepel make a revelation about the scenes of the Teräsniska episode.
When it was time to reveal the transformation of the favorite singer’s family’s cottage, the weather brought a dramatic surprise to the TV filming.
Teräsniska’s cottage is located in northern Finland, where autumn was much longer at the time of the filming than in the southern destinations.
– There had been the first snow and a flood before the unveiling, and because of that, we were left with quite a pile of waste in the yard, Mikko Vesanen recalls.
Vilja Schepel digs out a picture from her cell phone that shows the catastrophic situation in the yard.
– As if the lake had been there. We tried with the producer to get it open in the rain with boots on and shovels, he says.
– I can tell you that when that picture hit me too, a small inner scream was heard in Punavuori. As I remember, I was coming to the filming location the very next day and I thought, what will come of this! But you were able to shovel it open, thanks Vesanen.
Due to the wet yard, the stage left on the plot was also almost completely hidden. The most sharp-eyed TV viewers could still notice it.
