This Friday, two large delegations from proxies and controllers of the PSC and Barcelona en Comú, and to a lesser extent than the rest of the main parties, they have gone to the Ciutat de la Justícia to the headquarters of the Zone Electoral Board, to participate in a count that was announced to be long – it has even been said that it could take three days- but that has finally concluded after more than eight hours, shortly before seven in the evening. Then the Board took a while to determine the outcome, among other things due to a specific conflict: a table in Ciutat Vella in which 150 votes were at stake.

That is why they were being claimed, something that the Electoral Board did not see as appropriate. This discrepancy has led to speculation that the Comuns will challenge the result, for which they have 24 hours.

An appeal before the Zone Electoral Board would not delay the investiture of the new mayor, scheduled for June 17. If it is presented and is rejected, the Comuns could appeal to the Central Electoral Board. If this does not agree with them either, they could present a judicial appeal and it would be then that the investiture would be delayed to July 7, the first day of the electoral campaign of the generals on July 23.
