Karolina Shiinon, 26, her reign as the reigning Miss Japan was cut short. Ukrainian-born Shiino was crowned Japan’s most beautiful two weeks ago, but now she has relinquished her crown.
Shiino’s selection as Miss Japan sparked a lot of discussion – both positive and harsh criticism. Even Shiino’s immigration background raised opinions. Shiino moved to Japan when he was five years old. He speaks fluent Japanese and is a Japanese citizen.
Shiino is the first Miss Japan of European descent.
