The receivers of a bankrupt building promoter are looking into whether houses can still be built

After the bankruptcy yesterday of Sua Casa from Roeselare, the court has appointed two trustees. They now have to see how many victims the building promoter made.

Compensation?

The company started building houses more than three years ago, but the increased prices caused it to go under, according to the manager. In the meantime, yards have been at a standstill for months.

This afternoon the trustees will sit together with the manager. He claims that there are 17 victims, the victims themselves speak of 40.

A woman from Lichtervelde already paid 120,000 euros for what is now only a shell. The trustee is investigating whether she got value for money and whether there is still money to compensate the victims. But since Sua Casa put the books down, that’s doubtful.
