A year ago, the RBB scandal about greed and nepotism broke. But there is no end in sight.

The public broadcaster has squandered millions again. For expensive lawyers who were supposed to clear up the scandal – and instead of providing insights only provided new bills.

Far too late, the supervisors have now pulled the ripcord and fired the lawyer. But that’s not the end of the RBB scandal.

Broadcasting and administrative boards are led by SPD comrades, and every third member is a politician. The new director was deputy government spokeswoman.

The 2,000 permanent employees are still collecting absurdly high salaries, allowances and pensions.

The courts of auditors have determined what needs to change at RBB: more control, competence, political independence – and normal salaries.

It is high time that Berlin and Brandenburg made a new interstate broadcasting treaty. To put an end to the scandal.
