Among them, the American travel magazine Travel + Leisure has conducted a survey among its users to decree the most beautiful city in Europe. And so, readers from every corner of the planet they shared their travel experiences in the old continent, evaluating the artistic monuments and each place according to criteria of hospitality, friendliness of the local population, culture, cuisine.

But look who is in first place: Florence

The news, however, is that at the top of the ranking there is an Italian city. Because if it is true that Spain has impressed many tourists and Istanbul is very popular, Florence it is much more so, confirming itself once again as a favorite destination for tourists from all over the worldafter being elected the most popular city already in 2019 and 2020.

More than anything else, readers appreciated the presence of traces of a glorious past on every street corner. In many recommend it as an ideal destination for their honeymoon, precisely because of its magical atmosphere. And if you clearly can’t fail to visit the most iconic places in Florence, such as the Duomo, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, Pitti Palacemany travelers have found even more fascinating the views that can be discovered walking around the city.

The Tuscan capital wins the first place in the ranking, however, also thanks to food, becoming an ideal destination for those who love good food and good wine.

Turkey and Spain always top

As for the other positions, Turkey grabs two: the second with Istanbul and fourth with Bodrum.

Spain has remained in the hearts of many tourists and there are, in fact, three Spanish cities that are positioned in the ranking: Seville in third, Madrid in eleventh and Cordova in fifteenth.

Portugal also ranks well in the ranking with two cities, Lisbon and Porto, which occupy the seventh and eighth place respectively.

But in the ranking there is also space for Eastern Europe: Ljubljana (Slovenia) ranks sixth, while Krakow (Poland) occupies the ninth.
