The Rambla Prim changes its skin to unify the entire promenade

The Barcelona City Council has begun this week the works to change the pavement of the lower part of the Rambla de Prim, in the district of Sant Martí. The cobblestone will be changed in the section between Plaça de Llevant and Carrer Llull, in the Besòs and Maresme neighborhood, near the Parc del Fòrum. Work started on Monday this week and it is said that they will end in about three months, in January 2023.

The consistory explains that the reform will allow “unifying & rdquor; the central road of the Rambla de Prim “with a new pavement & rdquor ;. The tiles that will be installed on the promenade that articulates the Besòs and the Maresme will be “grey prefabricated concrete pieces”. The municipal government emphasizes that the renovation will facilitate possible future repairs and guarantees that the paving will better resist “the punctual passage of maintenance and emergency vehicles.”

The road is four kilometers long and joins Besòs and Maresme with the neighborhoods of La Verneda and La Pau, located at the north end of the promenade. The Rambla Prim crosses two major traffic hubs, the Gran Vía and the Rambla de Guipúscoa, it is estimated to have an average width of 60 meters and has a bike lane.
