The public can say goodbye to Peper in Rotterdam city hall

People who want to personally say goodbye to the former minister and former mayor of Rotterdam Bram Peper, who died last week, can walk past Peper’s closed coffin on Saturday between 10:00 and 13:00 in the city hall of Rotterdam. Peper’s family has decided to do this.

The condolence register at City Hall closed on Friday. There is still the possibility to offer condolences online via www.memori.nl/Bram-Peper. Peper, who died at the age of 82, was mayor of Rotterdam from 1982 to mid-1998 and Minister of the Interior from August 1998 to March 2000 on behalf of the PvdA.

The funeral of Peper who died last Saturday is on Monday 29 August. In the Laurenskerk in Rotterdam, a farewell ceremony is exclusively for invited guests. After that, Peper will be cremated privately, the relatives announced earlier.

On Saturday evening, the lighting of the Erasmus Bridge will be dimmed and the facade of the KPN building on the Kop van Zuid will show a green heart in tribute to Peper.
