The judge in the Masks case investigates whether the commission agent intervened in the transcript of the testimony sent by the alleged seller of the masks from Malaysia
The Madrid Prosecutor’s Office suspects that the commission agent Alberto Luceno ‘he made up’ the statement he sent to the court San Chin Choon, the supposed representative of the company that, in the midst of the coronavirus crisis, sold low-quality masks to the Madrid City Council, which allowed it to collect a commission of five million euros. This is stated in a letter dated September 12 addressed to Judge Adolfo Carretero, who is investigating the Masks case, in which the Public Prosecutor’s Office demanded the registration of the commission agent’s home, which was carried out last week.
This statement, which was supposedly made before the Malaysian authorities, exonerated Luceño. And he does not believe it because this testimony was sent from a different email than those known so far; but also because this document presents gross grammatical errors in English, a language that San Chin Choon does not speak, according to Luceño himself. “It has several grammatical errors that show that it has been written by someone who not only does not speak English correctly, but has Spanish as a mother tongue“, Says the prosecutor, who points to a possible intervention in the writings of those investigated.
When asked if he knew the brokers Luceño and Luis Medina, the written answer was: “To Mr. Luceño yes, to Mr. Medina no.” An expression that according to the prosecutor is “a crude transcription of the answer that would be given in Spanish”.
