The Prosecutor General’s Office approved the charge against the former Minister of the “open government” Mikhail Abyzov, reported on the website of the department.
Abyzov, as well as 11 people whom the investigation calls his accomplices, are accused of organizing a criminal community or participating in it (maximum punishment up to 20 years in prison), fraud on an especially large scale (up to ten years in prison), laundering money obtained by criminal means (up to seven years in prison), commercial bribery and illegal business activities.
“The defendants pleaded not guilty to the alleged crimes. The criminal case has been sent to the Gagarinsky District Court of Moscow,” the Prosecutor General’s Office said.

Abyzov coordinated the activities of the Open Government from May 21, 2012 to May 18, 2018. In March 2019, he was arrested.
