The PRO is broken: Larreta will maintain neutrality in the face of the runoff

The tensions between Horacio Rodríguez Larreta and the tough wing of the PRO They were evident throughout the campaign. But he had never gotten as far as this Wednesday, when Patricia Bullrich announced that he would lean towards Javier Milei ahead of the November 19 runoff.

NEWS consulted a member of the small larretism table, who confirmed the rumor that was gaining strength: “We will maintain neutrality. Just as radicalism and the majority of governors are going to do,” he indicated.

When just a couple of days have passed since the general elections that placed Bullrich in third place and out of the runoff, for now the majority of Together for Change would decide not to support either Massa or Milei. The Civic Coalition was the first force to express it and radicalism continued along the same path with the personal definitions of the majority of its leaders. But part of the PRO moved away from that path.

Bullrich and Mauricio Macri met with Milei to agree on support and hours later the former candidate announced it: “The urgency of the moment challenges us not to be neutral in the face of the danger of the continuity of Kirchnerism through Sergio Massa,” she said at a conference. of press.

The person who had anticipated the PRO crisis was the leader of the Civic Coalition, Elisa Carrió, who insisted throughout the campaign with the former president’s position of playing for La Libertad Avanza. After the defeat of Together for Change, “Lilita” declared: “I had warned that What Macri was going to do was wear out Horacio, hand over Patricia and leave with Milei.so for me it was predictable,” he said.

In the larretism they point to Macri as the instigator of the move in favor of Milei. And while they carefully follow the events, they indicate: “We will see how this turns out, but the main person responsible for what is happening is Mauricio.”
