Last spring’s Finnish ice hockey champion Juuso Ikonen moves to Ässi, the club informs.

28-year-old Ikonen has signed a comprehensive contract with Pori for the rest of the season. He didn’t play anywhere in the preseason.

The winger is remembered in the SM league as an effective player, although the last few seasons have been quieter.

In the 2020–21 season, Ikonen scored 13+24=37 points in HPK and in the 2015–16 season in Kärpi, 9+30=39 points.

Last spring, Ikonen celebrated the SM league championship and the CHL championship in a Tappara shirt. He scored 2+9=11 points in 31 games in the SM league in the regular season and playoffs.

Aces gives his new confirmation the game number 14.

– Juuso is a versatile and successful attacker who is reliable and experienced. I believe that he will adapt well to our team’s way of playing and will bring more options to the coaching as a skilled player, Ässie’s sports director Janne Vuorinen commented in the announcement.

Ässät has started the season perfectly. The team is fourth in the SM league after six matches.
