The Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie will tour in 2023

The Postal Service and Death Cab For Cutie have announced a joint tour for 2023. What the two bands also have in common is lead singer Ben Gibbard. The musician will play the debut albums of his groups on tour.

Death Cab for Cutie formed in Washington state in 1997, and their breakthrough album TRANSATLANTICISM came out six years later. The Postal Service came together in 2001. The group released their first and only album GIVE UP two years later. The tour is set to celebrate the 20th anniversary of both records.

“I know for a fact that I will never have another year like 2003,” Gibbard said in a press release. “The Postal Service and TRANSATLANTICISM record came out. Those two plaques will be on my tombstone, and I totally agree with that. I’ve never had a more creatively inspired year.”

The groups have mainly scheduled concerts in America, and they are also coming to Germany for three shows. They will play in Munich on March 3rd, 2023, in Berlin on March 9th and in Cologne on March 14th. In the evenings they are supported by Slow Pup.

Tickets for the shows are available from well-known ticket offices.

This year, Death Cab For Cutie released their tenth studio album, ASPHALT MEADOWS.
