A pop star known for his hot lyrics Craig David says he is celibate.
The British star isn’t currently dating anyone, and she hasn’t waved the blanket with anyone in about a year.
Known as a ladies’ man, Craig says on Louis Theroux’s podcast, that repeated one-night stands can lead to “many different traumas”. He believes celibacy helps him focus and get in the right frame of mind for his next female friend.
– Sometimes you have to slow down. I am 42 years old now. Things are different, says Craig.
– If we can’t dive deep, if we can’t talk and laugh like crazy at the same time, if I can’t see the inner beauty of the other, then we’re playing the same game I’ve been playing since day one. I don’t want it anymore.
Craig says he realized that when he was younger, he got lost in shallow, short-term relationships because he was afraid of getting hurt.
He suspects that the reason is that he broke his heart badly in a fiery romance at the age of 16.
– I had never experienced anything like that. My heart kind of shut down, says Craig.
