The Poll: internet banking is too complicated

2.6 million adults in the Netherlands have difficulty with digital banking. De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) recently wrote one alarming report about. Online banking with digital cards, log-in codes and passwords: it is too complicated for many people. Do you also have trouble with it, or are you helping someone?

Among these 2.6 million people who experience problems, 400,000 people even hand over the task. They are completely dependent on their partner, neighbours, friends or family. This also results in mental problems. According to DNB, shame, powerlessness, anger, feelings of inferiority or sadness can arise from this dependency. Some find it difficult to rely on others, according to DNB, according to the interviews.

Banks recognize their customers’ problems. To help them, some banks give group lessons in internet banking, or have financial care coaches who visit customers and service points. According to DNB, the range of support varies from bank to bank. Moreover, the measures are often insufficiently known to customers. It is therefore called upon to make this information available as clearly as possible.
