The Poll: I want to live to be 100

Many people struggle with getting older. Old age comes with flaws, they say. But life coach Thea Elling from Haarlem sees it completely differently. Getting older is fun and brings many benefits. And if you stay fit, you can go on endlessly.

Thea is 79 years old, but still feels very fit. She lectures on aging and sports five times a week. In addition, Thea now also gives yoga classes in the living room of her apartment on the Rijksstraatweg in Haarlem-Noord.

Advantages

According to Thea, there are many benefits to getting older. “Especially at a later age, people often know much better who they are than when they are young,” she says. Through a lot of life experience you can show who you really are and you don’t have to do what you were taught before.

Live and let live

Thea wants to get everything out of life and sees sitting as a gift. Yet she does not judge people who think differently about this. Her intention for the future: maintain her social contacts. In any case, it will be fun.
