The chance that your mailbox will be full of Christmas cards in the coming week is small. North Holland is at the bottom of the province list when it comes to receiving Christmas cards. Sending a card doesn’t happen much here either. Yet young people have indicated that they would rather receive a physical Christmas card than a Christmas wish via an app. Do you still send Christmas cards, make a Christmas wish online or do you not send anything at all during the holidays?
Christmas is a week away, so the Christmas cards will have to go out in the coming days. Yet our province does not score high when it comes to receiving and sending Christmas cards, according to research by Ticket2Go. Only in South Holland do they receive fewer Christmas cards. Some people from our province send a digital wish via an app or a message on Facebook and some people do not send anything at all.
However, cards with a cheerful snowman or a dancing Santa Claus can still be found in North Holland. Residents from Marken, Benningbroek and Oudesluis receive the most Christmas cards and in Benningbroek, Marken and Twisk they send the most cards in the province.
Young adults prefer to receive a physical Christmas card
For a long time it seemed that young people were sending fewer and fewer physical cards, but that is changing. Almost 8 out of 10 young adults would rather receive a physical Christmas card than a Christmas wish via an app. This is evident from research that PostNL had carried out by market research agency Factsnapp. The target group indicates that sending an app is easy, but someone has spent time and attention on sending a Christmas card.
Do you send Christmas cards? Do you send a digital Christmas wish or do you do nothing with it?
