The Poll: ban telephones in public spaces

Since this month, residents of the French village of Seine-Port are no longer allowed to use their mobile phones in shops, schools, parks and other public spaces. According to the mayor, this measure helps prevent excessive screen use by children and is good for the health of residents. Should we also introduce this rule in the Netherlands?

A first in France, a telephone ban on the street. In the French village you don’t see anyone on the street sending messages, taking photos or calling. According to Mayor Vincent Paul-Petit, the measure is good for the health of residents and helps parents in their fight against excessive screen use by their children.

Do you think that is a good idea for a village or city where no one is on the phone on the street and would you also like to see that in the Netherlands? Or do you think it’s nonsense and you can’t live without your cell phone?
