The National Police has restricted the circulation of pedestrians around Congress for security against possible protests, as police sources have explained to EFE, after the demonstrations held these days in Spain against the amnesty law, some not reported and with violent episodes.
Specifically, the Police have restricted the passage for pedestrians in the section of Carrera de San Jerónimo that faces the main façade of the Congress, between Cedaceros Street and Plaza de Neptuno, as well as in the back of the building, in the section on Zorrilla Street, which runs between Cedaceros Street and Paseo del Prado.
At the beginning and at the end of the points that are restricted there are fences with National Police agents to prevent the passage of pedestrians, except those who work or live in the area or go to businesses located on those streets.
Instead, the vehicle traffic runs normally in the aforementioned sections.
In addition, there are many other fences piled up around Congress in case it is necessary to use them in improvised protests, and security has been reinforced with several vans Police in the area.
All this at a time when demonstrations have multiplied in various parts of Spain to protest the amnesty law agreed with the independentists, some of them not officially communicated and with violent episodes, and with the investiture of Pedro Sánchez scheduled this week, on November 15 and 16.
