Two young raccoons got on a BVG bus at Tempelhofer Damm on Tuesday evening. One left voluntarily at the request of the bus driver, the other had to be taken away by the police.

Such a BVG bus can be a beautiful climbing paradise, the young animals probably thought and scrambled into the parked bus at Tempelhofer Feld. Without a ticket!

The driver had parked his vehicle in the turning loop of the terminus and had taken a short break. When he got off the bus and left the door open, the raccoons took their chance.

One of the furry dodgers quickly got off the bus, the other remained stubborn and didn’t want to get off at all. The driver alerted the police. “We found the young animal around 7 p.m. in the back of the bus,” said a police spokesman for BZ

The team took the animal to the section and handed it over to the rangers at the Marienfelde nature conservation station. In the evening the raccoon was released near the place where it was found and was allowed to go back to Mama Bear.
