The polar bears are German champions again

Munich Olympic Ice Stadium 9:49 p.m. It’s done! The polar bears have created the sensation! In the fourth playoff final, the boys of coach Serge Aubin (47) cleaned 5:0 in the Bavarian capital Red Bull Munich and are German champions again, winning the series 3:1.!

The pot remains a Berliner! title defended. On the players’ bank, the cheering knows no bounds. And in the grandstand, 500 polar bear fans who traveled with them celebrate this great team.

It’s already the ninth title that the polar bears have won and this championship is particularly valuable. In the fifth game within seven days, the Berliners bit their way to the title and know no pain.

Leo Pföderl played big after an inflammation of the pubic bone. Striker colleague Blaine Byron in Munich even with a bruised rib. In addition, there are the injured top players Zach Boychuk (contusion) and Yannick Veilleux (knee). But the polar bears show up as a conspiracy and never give up.

Masterful the game. White puts Berlin in the lead after a magic pass from Hördler (5th). The polar bears skillfully lurk on the counterattack and an outstanding Mathias Niederberger is in goal. NHL warhorse Frans Nielsen (25th), the ailing Leo Pföderl (26th) and again Matt White (37th/60th) give the Munich team a 5-0 lead. It stays that way. It’s celebrated late into the night.
