The player who was banned from the Giants got an NHL contract

Shane Pinto, who has by far the longest suspension of the season, is ready for real action. The NHL club Ottawa Senators announced on Friday that they signed a one-year contract with Shane Pinto. The value of the contract is the league minimum salary, i.e. $775,000. Pinto, 23, was supposed to play in Ottawa from the start of the season, but contract negotiations for the U.S. forward fell short amid an investigation into the league’s betting rules.
