The Platform Group streamlines logistics in the Netherlands

The e-commerce specialist The Platform Group AG will in future rely on a single logistics location in the Netherlands.

The new central logistics facility in the city of Groningen was put into operation on Tuesday, the company announced on Wednesday. It replaces the previous four locations of the Dutch online retailer Brandfield, which was taken over by Fashionette AG in summer 2021.

In the future, “all activities in the Netherlands” will be handled through the new facility in Groningen, where “all employees and inventory” have been brought together, said the company, which emerged from the merger of Fashionette with The Platform Group GmbH & Co. at the beginning of the month KG emerged. “The remaining areas of the existing logistics locations will be completely eliminated by the first quarter of 2024.” The streamlining was decided in the spring as part of Fashionette’s savings and efficiency improvement program.

Dominik Benner, the CEO of The Platform Group AG, explained the measure: “We are pleased that by merging into one location we will be able to be significantly faster in the future, save costs and implement the platform strategy even better,” he explained in a statement. “A big thank you to the logistics team at Brandfield for making this work without interruption.”
