The Platform Group expands its majority stake in the pharmacy platform ApoNow

The e-commerce specialist The Platform Group AG (TPG) has increased its majority stake in the software company ApoNow GmbH from 50.1 percent to 80 percent.

ApoNow, based in Wetter (Ruhr), is a platform for pharmaceutical manufacturers and pharmacies in Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. Currently, over 300 pharmaceutical manufacturers are connected to the platform, through which 41,500 pharmacies place orders and deliver them daily. End customers are also connected and can order medicines and medical products via the Doc.Green website.

“ApoNow has developed positively since we joined in 2021 and is the only platform and software solution where pharmaceutical manufacturers are directly connected to local pharmacies. We are pleased to be increasing our shares here after two years and to continue to support future growth,” explains Dr. Dominik Benner, CEO of The Platform Group AG. The transaction, which is scheduled to be completed in April 2024, will be financed from TPG’s own funds. It was agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

The group is planning three to eight further acquisitions of companies from the B2B and B2C sectors in the current year. It was only in February that TPG announced the complete takeover of Hood Media GmbH, which runs the online marketplace Hood.de and in January the acquisition of a majority stake in the online platform that specializes in sustainable clothing Avocado Store announced.

The TPG group of companies was founded last fall from the merger of Fashionette AG with The Platform Group GmbH & Co KG emerged.
