The Spanish air force plane that was repatriating the survivors and victims of the Galician fishing ‘Villa de Pitanxo’ landed this midnight at the military airfield in Santiago de Compostela from Newfoundland, Canada.
The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, had arrived an hour earlier on another plane at the aforementioned aerodrome, to receive the survivors and the bodies of the deceased, and met with relatives of the crew, a meeting whose content has not transpired.
The plane was chartered this past Sunday by the Government of Spain for the repatriation of the crew from Newfoundland.
