The legendary Pink Floyd Roger Waters spoke at the UN Security Council on Wednesday at the invitation of Russia.
Waters has already caused astonishment with his anti-Semitic and pro-Russian statements.
Somewhat surprisingly, Waters said the Russian attack was illegal. After this, however, Waters began to explain how Russia had been provoked. Waters also called for a ceasefire, which he says is “the only reasonable course of action”.
– He is lucky to be in New York, a free country where he can express his opinion, say what he wants, including talking about Russian aggression and how wrong it is. If he were in Russia, he could be under arrest for his speeches, Albania’s ambassador to the UN Ferit Hoxha told the 15-member Security Council.

Waters said in September that he opposes Western arms deliveries to Ukraine.
The British musician’s Ukraine uproar began in the fall of 2022, when he sent the president of Ukraine to Volodymyr Zelensky a letter to his wife, Olena Zelenska, in which he wrote how the “extreme nationalists” in Ukraine have “put the country on a destructive path to war”.
However, Waters omitted to mention in his letter the actions of Russia and the fact that Russia started the war.
