Very low temperatures are expected this weekend at the Las Vegas GP, which is also at night

For Sunday’s race, the forecasts are between 9 and 12 degrees

It’s going to be very cold throughout the entire F1 weekend in Las Vegas. It was already anticipated and even more so given that it was a grand prix scheduled at night. In fact, the pilots are preparing to face perhaps the lowest temperatures of the entire season.

And what was imagined as a great motor festival among Nevada casinos is not having the best preamble. The public’s response has not been what was expected and hotel and ticket prices have plummeted. But also, the cold does not invite much to endure two hours of racing in the stands.

If we talk about the coldest Grand Prix of the season, it will most likely be this weekend in Las Vegas, with a forecast of between 9 and 12 degrees for Sunday’s race and something above (13-15º) in the days on Saturday and Friday. During these dates, temperatures drop drastically in the Nevada desert.

But it does not seem easy to surpass the record of Canada 1978, with temperatures that were around 5 degrees, which is considered to be the coldest in history. The Eifel Grand Prix at the Nurburgring and the Turkish Grand Prix in 2020 were held at 10ºC, something similar to what is expected this Sunday.
