★★★★ Argentine brothers and chefs Christian and Roberto Petersen took their first culinary steps thanks to the women in their family and this passion led them to study and gain experience abroad. After numerous and original successes as individual or duo hosts on the El Gourmet channel, in 2020 they presented the series “Los Petersen en la Patagonia”. There, throughout eight episodes, they cooked delicious recipes located in the beautiful landscapes of the lakes in the province of Neuquén, in southern Argentina. Thanks to an agile, cordial style and fraternal complicity, they took over the enigmatic Patagonia and used it as an ideal setting to prepare various recipes that ranged from a risotto on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi to a carrero stew on Quila beach. Quina.
With this background, last week they premiered “Los Petersen en el norte argentina”, where the duo shows us the result of a gastronomic journey that they undertook through other equally attractive tourist places: the valleys and cities of the provinces of Salta and Jujuy. Located on the heights, they not only enjoyed the impressive Andean panoramas, but fundamentally, the particular warmth and simplicity of its people, when passing through towns, celebrations and markets, and of course, the typical flavors and ingredients of the region.
In the first episode they settle in the fascinating Jujuy Potrero de Yala Provincial Park, where there is a trout farm in the Villa María area, they taste and use the cheeses that Marcela Fernández prepares and sells for Sabores Nogales, at the entrance to Puente Negro, and together with Angela, they cook tortillas on the grill. Without a doubt, it is a fantastic tour that takes us to enjoy not only culinary recipes but also the fascinating Andean culture. The shipment is repeated on Saturdays and Sundays at 8:30 p.m.
In these times of staunch individualism, seeing the brotherhood of these mature men, the wealth and beauty of our country, and the generosity and joy of its inhabitants, is very comforting. Do not miss it.
