The perfect steak sauce is created in five minutes and, on top of all that, from ingredients that are likely to be found already in the kitchen cabinets.
The taste base of the sauce is made up of tasty Worcestershire sauce, fruity sour balsamic vinegar and, a little surprisingly, raisins. The raisins bring sweetness to the sauce and when mashed, they give the sauce a slightly sticky texture.
When pureing the ingredients, it is important to add the ingredients in the correct order, ie the liquids first and the raisins only last, so that they do not stick to the blades of the blender.
It is advisable to make the sauce a couple of hours in advance so that the flavors have time to develop.
Steak sauce
(about 2.5 dl of finished sauce)
1.2 dl of ketchup
0.8 dl Worcestershire sauce
0.8 dl of water
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
0.6 dl raisins
1. Measure the ingredients in the above order in a blender or food processor and puree into a smooth sauce.
2. If desired, heat over low heat in a barrel before serving.
