The patience of travelers at Breda station tested the most

Train passengers at Breda station needed a lot of patience in the past six months. Thousands of trains were more than five minutes late. Or worse: they did not appear at all, according to research by RTL Nieuws. Of all stations in the Netherlands, Breda even scores the worst of all when it comes to punctuality. 83.2 percent of the trains ran on time.

Train passengers throughout the Netherlands had to deal with delays or even no-shows at all in the past six months, the study shows. At 378 of the nearly 400 stations, trains are now less often on time than in 2019. And the expectation for the coming months is not exactly hopeful, RTL Nieuws wrote on Monday. .

Breda Station therefore takes the cake in a negative sense. Of the more than 53,000 times that a train had to stop in the past six months, this 4698 was more than 5 minutes late (8.8 percent). 4,288 times (8 percent) the train failed, as a result of which it never arrived in Breda at all.

Other stations
The Bergen op Zoom and Roosendaal stations score the worst in our province after Breda. Here, respectively, 84.8 and 85 percent of trains arrived on time in the past six months. A percentage that is slightly lower than at the Eindhoven CS, ‘s-Hertogenbosch and Tilburg stations. Here, respectively, 86.2, 86.3 and 86.7 percent of the trains arrived on time.

Boxmeer and Cuijk most punctual
You have the best chance of a train running on time in our province at the stations Boxmeer and Cuijk. there, respectively, 95.4 and 95.2 percent of trains arrived on time in the past six months. The stations therefore score better than in 2019.
