Member of the Majilis (the lower house of the Parliament of Kazakhstan), the eldest daughter of former President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Dariga, is absent from meetings, as she is still on vacation, informed “Sputnik Kazakhstan” with reference to the press service of the Majilis.
“The MP is still on leave without pay,” it said.
Dariga Nazarbayeva is a member of the Committee on Economic Reform and Regional Development. She has not appeared at meetings since early January, when a wave of protests swept across Kazakhstan.
On January 12, an assistant to Nazarbayeva reported that the deputy had contracted the coronavirus and was at home in Alma-Ata. On February 1, the assistant said that Nazarbayeva was in Nur-Sultan. The deputy took a vacation at her own expense and continues to undergo rehabilitation, she added. On February 16, the deputy again missed the meeting of the Majilis.
