The name of the presenter who has been sacked from the BBC may soon become public.
ANDY RAIN, AOP
New information about the behavior of the BBC presenter, who is the subject of chilling accusations, has come to light in the media. A well-known male presenter is said to have paid almost 41,000 euros to a teenager for sending sexual images over the course of a few years. The person is said to have been 17 years old when the events began, and is now 20 years old. The host’s identity has not been made public, which has led to intense speculation.
The BBC has suspended the presenter pending an investigation, but the TV company has not released the name of the person in question.
According to the Daily Mail, the matter has now reached the tables of the British Parliament, and there they want an end to the speculation. The parliament is currently considering whether the name of the host suspected of buying sexual images should be made public so that the public speculation ends.
Several BBC stars have already had to deny the suspicions, because the rumor mill is spinning at a tremendous speed on social media.
– There is a discussion about whether his name should be made public, says a former member of parliament to the Daily Mail.
British privacy laws have prevented the British media from publishing the host’s name.
The star presenter is said to have hired lawyers specializing in privacy and media relations from the Harbottle & Lewis law firm to get the situation straightened out and his reputation restored. According to the Daily Mail, the royal family uses the same law firm.
The teenager denies
Soppa has progressed even more solidly.
The teenager denies the things brought to the public through his lawyer and claims that nothing inappropriate or illegal has ever happened.
The teenager’s mother and stepfather claim that the presenter is trying to control their child’s story.
– It’s sad, but we stand behind our words. We did this to help. The host has gotten inside his head. How else would I have been able to afford a lawyer? We are so sad, commented the teenager’s mother to The Sun.
– We are disappointed that such a statement was even made. It’s not true, the stepfather tells the magazine.
They say that they have kept several bank receipts and screenshots of the communication between the teenager and the star presenter as evidence. According to the parents, the teenager financed his use of crack cocaine with the money received from the presenter, which led the growing young person to a downward spiral.
The parents said they spoke to BBC representatives just hours after the presenter tried to secretly meet the teenager at a train station.
The BBC’s actions are confusing
The BBC says that it has been investigating the matter since May, when the matter was brought to the attention of the TV company. The parents dispute this and claim that the BBC did not actually want to do anything about it.
– I told the BBC that I had been on the run from the police. The BBC knew about this, the stepfather tells The Sun.
It is claimed by the BBC that the TV company tried to reach the family in June without success.
According to newspaper reports, the presenter was suspended only two months after the accusations were first brought to the attention of the BBC by the victim’s family.
British police are investigating the case, but according to the Daily Mail, an official investigation has not yet been launched.
