The Palau and Plegamans were proclaimed champions of the OK Liga by also beating Telecable Gijon in the second game of the final playoff with which the Catalan team achieved its second title of the season and both in Gijón where it had already been proclaimed champion of Europe also by beating the Asturian team.
Telecable Gijón jumped onto the field knowing that he necessarily needed the victory to force the third game since in the first match, played at the Palau i Plegamans stadium, they were defeated 2-1 and from the first moment they went for the victory.
The women from Gijón were soon ahead when Marta Piquero finished off a free kick taken by Sara Roces but the Catalans did not take more than two minutes to equalize when Mariona Colomer took advantage of a stolen ball in the center of the field that allowed her to stand up to Fernanda Hidalgo, whom she beat with her shot.
The match returned to the tables and shortly after it became uphill for the locals as the referees signaled a penalty shot by Berta Busquets out, but the ball came back to her and this time she didn’t miss turning the marker over.
But if previously the Palau managed to equalize in a short time, now the Telecable did it even more quickly since it had barely been a minute when the referees again signaled a direct foul that Sara Roces converted after cheating on Laura Vicente.
Again a draw on the scoreboard but the occasions were continuous in both goals forcing the two goalkeepers to work hard, which meant that the break was reached with a tie at two goals and everything to be decided since the chances were shared between the two teams.
The second half continued with the same trend and the two teams went for the victory, so the chances followed one another, although the minutes passed without the score moving, which kept the uncertainty about the final outcome of the match or even the league. .
Natasha Lee and Rebeca González enjoyed two clear opportunities after personal moves but Laura Vicente showed her quality and prevented the ball from crossing the goal line in a few minutes in which the girls from Gijón seemed to be closer to third place than their Catalan rivals.
But the Palau allied itself with luck and Laura Puigdueta managed to hit enough to deflect a long shot from Mariona Colomer to put her team ahead for the second time, although as in the previous one, a direct foul signaled by the referees was used again by Sara Roces to establish a new tie.
The game went crazy because in just three minutes four goals were scored, the Palau achieved the fourth through Berta Busquets who received the bullet with his back to the goal, turned his shot past Hidalgo and a few seconds later, Busquets again put the league on a platter for his team by scoring a direct foul by blue card on Sara Roces.
The season has been very cruel for Telecable Gijón, which has seen how it lost two titles on its own field against the same rival who has taken the measure for him and who reached the end of the season with a point more in form than the man from Gijón.
