The Osbournes returns as a BBC series

Having lived in California for twenty years, Ozzy Osbourne and his family are now returning to England with his wife Sharon. It was hardly to be expected that the couple would retire away from the public eye, after all they were pioneers in bringing their own family life to the screens with “The Osbournes”. And indeed: A new docu-soap is already being planned.

That’s what the BBC announced, perhaps surprisingly. But Ozzy Osbourne has long had enough cult status for the public broadcaster to shed its possible shyness of reality formats. The series aims to follow the Osbournes as they move into the Grade II listed Welders House in Buckinghamshire, north west London and adjust to life in the country.

“Twenty years ago, the Osbournes left the UK for a life in LA. Now they are coming ‘home to the nest’, back to their homes, which are pretty much exactly as they left it all those years ago,” said Clare Sillery, BBC programming officer.NME“. She announces a “funny, moving and honest look” into life in the UK for the Osbournes.

The reality series “The Osbournes” ran on MTV from 2002 to 2005 and showed the lives of the four Osbournes – in addition to Ozzy and Sharon also their children Kelly and Jack. Ozzy Osbourne has struggled with health issues in recent years after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s and undergoing multiple surgeries. But he gives other reasons for returning to England: Above all, the gun violence in the USA has increasingly spoiled his interest in the country. “Everything here is bloody ridiculous. I’m sick of people getting killed every day,” he said.
