Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich tipped a waiter a hefty sum of money while in Turkey, a local Son Dakika website news.
The oligarch and his entourage went to an Istanbul restaurant to eat kebabs and chicken wings, and when he left, he left the waiter a huge tip.
The kebabs cost a total of 2,600 euros, and Abramovich’s tip was an absurd 5,400 euros.
The billionaire is said to have received a “king’s welcome” at the Anadolu Hisari restaurant. He had a large group of bodyguards with him.
According to newspaper reports, Abramović is currently hiding in Istanbul. He has tried to keep a low profile since he was forced to sell London soccer giant Chelsea FC. He owned the club for 20 years.
Abramovich, who was put on the EU sanctions list, is a long-time acquaintance of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In the summer, it was reported that the oligarch lives in the residential area of Anadoluhisar in a mansion worth 23 million euros, for which he pays about 47,000 euros per month to rent.
