The officer suddenly takes a dip on his way to a woman who has fallen through the ice

An officer got wet feet during a rescue operation in a forest near Gemert. He and a colleague were on their way to help a woman who had fallen through the ice. On Instagram, the police share images of the officer suddenly going for a paddle.

The police received a report on Friday of a woman who had fallen through the ice in a forest area. The woman could no longer get out herself due to the amount of ice surrounding her. Local police officers Rens Kanters and Elke Kanters-Nachtzaam came to the rescue. The officers drove through the forest area in their police van, where they then fell through the ice with their vehicle.

A video that the officers themselves share on Instagram shows how the police bus is stuck on a flooded forest path. With a tow truck as reinforcement, they try to get the bus out of the mud. An officer tries to get behind the wheel again, but is left with a pair of wet socks and trouser legs.
