The number of road deaths fell by 21 percent in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year: 227 people died in the first six months of 2023, in 2022 there were still 287. This is the lowest number of deaths ever outside the corona years. This is evident today from the road safety barometer of Vias Institute, which is compiled with figures from the federal police.
