The Northern Fleet began exercises with the Arctic Expeditionary Group, which will involve up to 30 ships, support vessels and submarines, as well as about 1.2 thousand military personnel, informs Ministry of Defense.
“The forces and troops of the Northern Fleet have begun practicing practical actions as part of an exercise with the Arctic Expeditionary Group,” the statement said. The maneuvers are led by the commander of the Northern Fleet, Admiral Alexander Moiseev.
The frigate “Admiral Gorshkov”, about 140 units of military and special equipment and about 20 aircraft will also take part in the exercises.

The exercises will take place in the waters of the Barents Sea and at coastal training grounds in the Murmansk region.
