You don’t have to go to faraway places for strange birds. “On a walk from home to work, you come across a few different species.” Bird watcher Jan Brussels knows them all and with his enthusiasm he has ignited a group of Velsen-Noorders. Now and then they make a trip, just through Velsen-Noord. This week the nightingale rears its head. How do you recognize it? “He always has a bit of a run-up, ie-ie-ie and then tututututu.”
