Ristomatti Hakola tried what it feels like to compete.
Cross mat Hakola represented Jämin Jännett in the Vuokatti Suomen Cup relay on Sunday, but told Yle in an interview that he was withdrawing from the competition tracks.
– The next time we will come to the line probably next year, at the beginning of the year. I was thinking of training for a couple of months here. Then you can ski comfortably on it again, the man planned for Yle.
Hakola has suffered from many health problems, which he opened up to Iltalehti in October.
Despite the difficult times, Hakola appeared in Vuokatti satisfied that he was able to test his speed in a competitive situation for a while. He also thanked the help and support he received.
– In terms of health, it’s been pretty deep, but help has been offered and help has been accepted. Thank you to everyone who has been involved in the spirit of this for the past few months, Hakola said.
