VfB Stuttgart is playing a season that invites you to dream. Midfielder Atakan Karazor dreams of being invited to the German national team. But there could be competition from Turkey.
VfB Stuttgart amazes and delights the Bundesliga. So it’s no wonder that more and more names from the traditional club are circulating in the orbit of the DFB team.
Winger and dribbling king Chris Führich has already been nominated, goalgetter Deniz Undav can assume that he will be called up to the DFB squad for the first time by national coach Julian Nagelsmann in March. In addition, Stuttgart’s defense boss Waldemar Anton and left-back Maximilian Mittelstädt are also increasingly being mentioned as candidates.
Turkey is also probably interested in Karazor
Now Atakan Karazor is the Swabians’ next star, who would like to join the German national team. However, time is of the essence, because the Turkish association is also apparently keen on the Turkish-born Bundesliga professional.
According to “Bild”, there have already been initial discussions between the player and Hamit Altintop, who is on the board of the Turkish association.
The midfielder, who plays a key role under Sebastian Hoeneß in Stuttgart, has not yet made a decision. Karazor was born and raised in Essen, so he is eligible to play for both associations.
“Of course, like every footballer, I have the dream of one day playing for a national team and also taking part in the big tournaments,” Karazor told “Bild”. “My parents come from Turkey, I grew up in Germany. All I can do to get an invitation is to give VfB every day and continue to be successful with the team,” said the 27th -year-olds continue. He’s working hard for this dream and hopes “that there might even be an invitation before the European Championships.”
One thing is clear: Nagelsmann could certainly use someone like Karazor in the defensive midfield. The next opportunity comes at the end of March, when Germany meets France and the Netherlands.
