FC Bayern travels to FC Augsburg at the weekend with serious personnel concerns. That is already certain. But apparently things are getting even worse for the Munich team, as the German record champions will probably be missing another regular player.
If FC Bayern has to play against FC Augsburg on Saturday afternoon (3:30 p.m. in sport.de-Live ticker), then coach Thomas Tuchel is by no means spoiled for choice. After some bad news, there is now the next bad news. As “Bild” reports, Joshua Kimmich will be out for the game at FCA.
The reason: Kimmich injured his left shoulder on Wednesday evening during his Munich team’s 1-0 win against Union Berlin. The injury is only “minor”, but according to the tabloid it is not enough for him to play at the weekend. Good for Kimmich, who may have more time for the family on Saturday. This had recently grown to four children.
But it’s bad for his coach, who has fewer and fewer options available. Because FC Bayern had to pay dearly for the narrow but important victory against Union with a total of two new injuries. Konrad Laimer will be out for weeks with a torn muscle fiber in his calf, which also affects the tendon.
Central defender Dayot Upamecano was also injured on Wednesday. He had to be substituted at half-time after sustaining a thigh injury.
FC Bayern are plagued by serious worries
Thomas Tuchel then spoke of an unspecified “fiber injury”. According to “Bild” estimates, his downtime is around three weeks.
The Munich team also received further bad news from the hospital: As the “kicker” learned, offensive man Serge Gnabry will also be missing for a long time. The national player has been out since mid-December and will probably not be fully operational again until March at the earliest.
