The new president of Eintracht Frankfurt has been chosen

Turning point at Eintracht Frankfurt: Mathias Beck is the new president of the Bundesliga club.

The 52-year-old was elected Peter Fischer’s successor with a large majority during the annual general meeting on Monday evening in the Jahrhunderthalle. Fischer (67) left after 24 years to a standing ovation; his term in office included the triumph in the Europa League in 2022.

“I feel ready to go because with Mathias Beck there is a candidate to succeed me who is a Eintracht member through and through,” said Fischer: “He can be just as good, if not better, president than me.”

When the numbers were announced, everything revolved around Fischer. Since he took office in 2000, the club’s equity has increased by 5.2 million euros. Treasurer Dominik Berker announced an increase of just over 150,000 euros for the 2022/2023 financial year. With more than 139,000 members, Eintracht is the twelfth largest football club in the world.

“I will stay out of active business completely, but I will be there at any time if someone needs advice and will support where I can,” Fischer assured, he demanded: “Stay combative, stay loyal to us, support the volunteer work.”

There is only one sentence with which he can say goodbye: “I love you.”
