The models of the trendy sneaker brand KOMRADS from Belgium are among the most sustainable sneakers in the world.
The OCNS sneaker for him and her is the latest model from KOMRADS and is made from recycled plastic waste collected from the world’s oceans.
Around 380 million tons of plastic are produced worldwide every year. A large proportion of these are disposable products for single use. As a result, ocean pollution is steadily increasing and becoming a serious problem. That’s why KOMRADS works with the Seaqual Initiative, which aims to rid the oceans of plastic waste. The collected waste is then used to create the signature Seaqual Yarn – one of the most environmentally friendly fibers in the world. This yarn is the main ingredient of the new OCNS line.
The upper of the OCNS is made from 100 percent recycled Seaqual Yarn, the laces and inner lining are made from recycled cotton and recycled plastic bottles. The logo patch is made of corn leather. The sole, in turn, is made from 100 percent recycled rubber.
The new OCNS sneaker from KOMRADS is available as a low-top in five different colourways for women and men in sizes 36 to 46. The RRP is 125 euros.
The new ONCS line from KOMRADS is now available in the online shop at komrads.world and in selected specialist shops.
