Christine Wijshake, who comes from Vledder, is the new director of the Wadden Association. She will succeed Lutz Jacobi on 1 January.
Jacobi has been in the role since May 1, 2018, and announced her departure in the same month this year.
Wijshake already has some experience with the Wadden area: she was a former director of management at the Wadden Sea Management Authority. This organization is also concerned with nature. fish and water management of the Wadden Sea.
“We are very pleased that with Christine Wijshake we have been able to bind an experienced director with a great passion for the Wadden Sea to us,” says Kim van Nieuwaal, chairman of the board of the Wadden Association. “With her expertise and decisive personality, she will make a difference for the Wadden Sea in the coming years.”
