THEL Turin Book Fair restarts under the direction of Annalena Beniniwriter and journalist from Il Foglio, who for the three-year period 2024-2026 has already given literary festival a very precise imprinting. “His” Salon it will look more and more like the construction of a newspapermade up of several curators and an editorial team of technical collaborators.
A brand new Book Fair
The news of the Benini Show, which has taken over the leadership of the event Nicola Lagioia, director who saved the Salone from the crisis and the pandemic leading him to record record attendances, they are different and all very interesting.
The new sections
One of the most salient innovations of the Show which will be held from 9 to 13 May 2024 as always in Lingotto, is the creation of seven sections, alongside the general programming, each dedicated to a relevant and central theme for the Show. The care of the sections it is entrusted to male and female writers, intellectuals and artistswho will have the task, for that topic, of designing and conducting meeting-events during the days of the Show.
The 2024 Book Fair team
And so Teresa Crimisi, president of Adelphi, will take care of the section dedicated to publishing; to the writer Melania Mazzucco the section dedicated to art is entrusted; Alessandro Piperno, will take care of the section dedicated to the novel. Again, Erin Doom (pseudonym of the bestselling author of recent years) will take care of the section dedicated to romance.
For its part, Luciana Littizzetto will take care of the one dedicated to “lightness”, to “build smiling thoughts” and “bring relief”; the deputy director of the Post Francesco Costa will take care of the section dedicated to journalism and information. The section on cinema will be curated, finally, by the writer and screenwriter Francesco Piccolo.
The all-female editorial team
Beyond the seven sections, there will be an editorial team that will work on the program together with the Salone’s editorial team: will be coordinated by Annalena Benini and will be made up of: Paola Peduzzi, Igiaba Scego, Francesca Sforza, Tiziana Triana. Journalists, writers and professionals in the publishing world who are particularly attentive to the international panorama and new languages, but also to cultural and social changes.
The technical collaborators
The technical collaborators will be instead Ilide Carmignanifor the translation area; Lorenzo Fazzinifor relations with religious publishing; Giusi Marchetta, Eros Miari And Andrea Falconefor the children and schools area; Sara Specianifor the professional area and Federico Vergarifor the sports and comics area.
The host language
The Show decides to welcome one this year Guest language to be able to delve deeper into the literary and cultural production of a language over the five days of the event.
