The Netherlands supports Ukraine with another 80 million euros

The Netherlands will give another 80 million to Ukraine. Ministers Liesje Schreinemacher (Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, VVD) and Kajsa Ollongren (Defence, D66) promised this on Monday during a surprise visit to the Ukrainian capital Kiev, Defense reports. in a press release.

Most of the money (65 million) is intended for the reconstruction of Ukrainian cities. For example, this can be used to finance Dutch companies that want to repair infrastructure, such as bridges and roads, in Ukraine. 10 million euros will also be made available for clearing mines and other explosives.

Dutch arms aid to Ukraine will continue, Minister Ollongren promised. The Netherlands already supplied 210 million euros worth of military goods. In the autumn, a forensic team from Defense is expected to return to Ukraine to collect evidence of Russian war crimes. The International Criminal Court coordinates that mission.
