The plane carrying the National Team, which was returning to Turkey after the Wales match, had to land in Munich as a precaution after coach Vincenzo Montella’s brother became ill.
In the statement made by the Turkish Football Federation, “The plane carrying the National Team delegation from Cardiff to Istanbul landed at Munich Airport as a precautionary measure after Emanuele Montella, the brother of our Coach Vincenzo Montella, who was among the passengers, became ill.
TFF National Teams Manager Hamit Altıntop and Vincenzo Montella left the plane together with the National Team doctor to accompany E. Montella’s detailed examination.
“The necessary announcement will be made when the arrival time of the National Team plane to Istanbul Airport is confirmed.”
