New every month: our new large music express playlist for streaming!
For each issue there is a newly curated playlist with the song recommendations of the ME editorial team. Here you can listen to the music that we tell you about in the magazine while you are reading.
For those readers who don’t want to do without our exclusive CD, it will continue to be available in the ME subscription (which, by the way, can be canceled at any time).
This time the August playlist features music from:
CLAUD
Finest dark disco indie pop: On her second album (released on Phoebe Bridgers’ label Saddest Factory), Claud tells of the big affairs of the heart with a keen sense for the small gestures and details.
GEORGIA
The London musician’s new album is less bedroom and club than its predecessors – but co-producer Rostam has assisted Batmanglij in the giant leap towards super-smooth, sparkling, euphoric pop.
SKUFF BARBIE
The rapper from Münster knows how to do it: combining difficult topics such as unhealthy relationships and mental health with bouncy beats and the lightness of a party.
DOTA
For the second time, the Berlin singer-songwriter wraps the timeless lyrics of Mascha Kaléko in her warm folk-pop dress and has invited great guests like Black Sea Dahu, Dirk von Lowtzow and Gisbert zu Knyphausen.
GRIAN CHAT
On his solo debut, the singer of the Irish post-punk band Fontaines DC shows that he is a great rock poet: he combines his lyrics with rough acoustic guitars and a monotonous, melancholic voice.
ANNIE TAYLOR
The Swiss embrace the indie rock guitars wholeheartedly – and with a mixture of alternative rock, country and grunge that makes you melancholic and reminds you of the best the 90s had to offer.
