On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, ABBA – The Museum is showing “ABBA – Voyage”, a new exhibition from May 7th on the process of creating the virtual concerts in London and the current album of the same name. The museum in Stockholm has been one of the biggest crowd pullers in the Swedish capital for as long as it has existed.

“I am very proud to create this exhibition at the ABBA Museum together with my team and in collaboration with the producers of ABBA Voyage. The exhibition will give visitors a look behind the making of ABBA Voyage, including new and exclusive interviews with Björn and Benny about the show – and the album – in retrospect,” explains the Creative director of the museum Ingmarie Halling. The producers of the ABBA Voyage shows, which have been running since May last year, Svana Gisla and Ludvig Andersson are also involved: “We loved working with ABBA The Museum in Stockholm to bring a glimpse into the magic of ABBA Voyage to give a year after we opened our doors. The tremendous efforts of this whole amazing team, the joyful adventures of making the impossible possible: technological wizardry, cutting-edge immersion and entertainment innovation is a proud moment for us.”

The museum will also have access to show designer B. Åkerlund’s costumes. Three of her stage costumes will be on display.

The museum opened on May 7, 2013 on Djurg Island, which belongs to Stockholmuhits gates. Since then, it is estimated that it has welcomed more than 2.5 million visitors, including celebrities like Mick Jagger. For the first time, it takes up the virtual performances of the “ABBAtars” and makes them the subject of an exhibition. With a budget of around US$175 million, these performances are considered one of the most expensive live music events of all time.
